Lately, some researchers deny that Okita had Tuberculosis when the Ikedaya Affair.
If his Tuberculosis was that bad like vomitting blood, he wouldn't be alive longer than a year.(They say)
Nagakura's journal just described "Okita returned to Kaisho for ill" during the battle in Ikedaya.
So the researchers think the ill was Heat stroke or something.
What do you think?
If Okita didn't have Tuberculosis then, how/when did he get Tuberculosis?
Disclaimer:I am not expert of Tuberculosis. |

shikisoku,
There are cases of people having tuberculosis and living for quite a many years. The most famous one being a gunfighter/gambler/"lawman" named Dr. John "Doc" Holiday. He lived to his mid-30s and survived much longer than any of the doctors of the time thought he would. If I remember correctly he beat the doctors estimations by at least a decade.

shikisoku,
I would say that he had it beforehand but, due to his apparantly healthy lifestyle, the lesser stages manifested slowly.
