Well it depends on the viewer, whether it is boring or not.

Here's a website that shows the actors and which historical people they portray.

Wow! Interesting to see who they picked and why. It must be a wonderful creative challenge to be a casting director. Thanks for this!

I seriously doubt it'll be boring, but then every Taiga spends the first 20 eps. on background and character development. Now Downton Abbey, that comes off so fast it makes my head spin! I kind of like the pacing of the Taiga.

If it works to get male viewers for Brick McBurly...sure, why not? The ladies need some eye candy too.

I meant that your comely co-stars draw in MALE viewers, so when I said "it works for Brick", I didn't mean you as an actor, but you as a director and talent scout.

Well, that makes perfect sense, which is prob'ly why I didn't unnerstan' it. Although the only time I was a director was at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen when they wuz havin' tomato soup and I was seatin' the other derelicts.

The females in my household also agreed that the first 3 episodes were yawn inspiring.

Thanks for sharing, wicked lemon. Well, this actress looks much more like Yae. I've seen these clips before, but not with the reaction of the "celebrities" on the TV program.

I am most interested in how the taiga drama portrays Niijima Jo since I've been doing a lot of research on him. I was able to see the first episode of Yae, but none after that. I'll just wait till I can watch the series when it's finished on NHK TV.

Shikisoku, thanks for leading me to the extra photos. There are quite a few I haven't seen before.

Well, I finally got access to the first 6 months of "Yae no Sakura." I got it on amazon.com through Asian Entertainment. It has English subtitles in an overly large font. The subtitles are short considering most of the conversations, but that's OK, I understand most of it anyway. I saw one word in the subtitles that someone must have made up: anti-alienists.
