The Governor of Hyogo criticize Taiga "Too realistic!"

Another criticism among viewers is the Taiga used the word 王家 instead of 皇室.
I am not expert of the time period so I have no idea which is correct.

I was going to post a link to watch this with Eng Subs but the swift sword of NHK has moved with rapid speed and had the links removed .
This is a great Taiga though from the first 3 episodes if it holds up it could be one of the greats ,i like that Yoritomo is the narrator .

This had the third worst opening in Taiga History though the funny thing is it tied with Shin Heike Monogatari (1972 ) and the unrelated and underrated Komyo Ga Tuji (06).
All three only raked in 17% .

The winners were Kashin (1977 ) with 15% and coming in at number one Kasuga No Tsubone (1989) with a mere 14% .

Figures the first decent Taiga in a while and it bombs .

Other trivia the actress Anne in this drama is Ken Watanabe's daughter .

Scouring the net for other peeps opinions i found an Idol site and some of the comments were hilarious

(4)"Don't know if i can take much more of these dirty people its been four episodes and no Shotta "

Do not know what to make of this one really on one hand the sets ,costumes everything looks pretty realistic ,On the other hand the sluggish pace and the nighttime scenes are so dark its hard to figure out what is going on .
Than we have the guy playing Kiyomori as an obnoxious dimwitted loudmouth .To be honest the first 5 episodes are a battle to get through hope it picks up .

San Francisco now has begun to broadcast the Taiga Drama again... (with subs) after a few year absence.... (Gou, Ryomaden) KCNS picked up the series... Sunday eve (instead of Sat eve)
episode 2 was aired this eve.

Cool i checked the listing and saw paid programming on Sun at 10pm but that probably means they just leased it .Interesting because TV Tokyo (Not Tokyo TV ) was just dropped from KTSF so they peobably leased space at KCNS that is great news .
