Nagakura Shinpachi's Great Grandson Sugimura Etsuro tells interesting stories.

There is a plate "Shinsengumi Nagakura Shinpachi visited" at the Hokkaido University's main gate.
Nagakura was invited to Kengeki club in the university.
His family didn't want him to go because he was too old.
As expected, he fell down while performing and he was carried to home.

Mr Sugimura's father lived with Shinpachi in childhood.
Shinpachi left a note "The Seven wounds" for grandchildren to read when they're grown up.
His wounds were his history.
The thumb he wounded at Ikedaya seemed to have trouble in his late years.
