It'd be even more useful if any of these Rekishi Gunzo books showed up in the OCLC/WorldCat.... do no universities carry them? Or are they just listed weird? Anyway, I've requested a couple from ILL. We'll see what happens. |

Well, I think you're expecting a bit much from a website organizing RG's by topic, published by a private person(s). The point of the website is rather than sifting through the rather annoying RG website, you can easily find which volumes you want. Given the sheer number of volumes/articles addressing my topics, this has value to me. It may not to you. As for it not showing up in OCLC/WorldCat, can't help you there. Many/most are listed in the NDL website. Looking them up on WorldCat, even if they were there, would be a hit or miss exercise if you don't know which volumes you are looking for. The website is meant to help that problem, not be a one-stop shop for getting it to your door. And the Library of Congress has many of them, a quick glance tells me. Harvard-Yenching has 25 records. So yes, universities carry some of them at least. The point of posting the website is to find the one(s) you want, then you can search library sites for that particular issue, rather than typing in "Rekishi Gunzo" and "topic I want" and hoping something pops out randomly. ... Sorry, I was just being sarcastic about the frustrating lack of volumes being held by libraries and/or being properly cataloged in WorldCat, which is in no way the fault of this list. Quite obviously, this list is super helpful, and I wouldn't expect anything more from it. Thanks so much for sharing it - it really is fantastic to know what topics each volume contains, and which topics are out there. I would never expect such a site to have to also do anything more - such as link up to WorldCat. ... It's just annoying on the other side of things, on the WorldCat side of things, that these things aren't easily found in the database. Edited by Toranosuke, Apr 16 2015, 01:14 PM.
