Didn't find better place for this question so I ask here. Where do they gather to discuss? What are the popular forums where the Japanese history/samurai enthusiasts go to? |

The Japanese gather in small groups to discuss armor, there are a few blogs that I have run into over the years but nothing like our style of forums. They also are very hesitant to post photos in public of their armors.....there is currently no way to interact with them unless you know Japanese and can travel there...quite a shame actually as both sides would benefit from exchanging information. |

Oh, I see. Thanks for the reply! Wonder if those armors are their family treasures, it would make sense then not posting them online, no? |

This is something that seems to occur quite a bit in Japanese academia-documents and artifacts are 'borrowed for research' and never returned, and it's made the people who have them very reluctant to share even photos. This seems to extend outside of academia as well-one well known Japanese poster collector has acquired almost all of his posters by 'borrowing them' to feature in books and never returning them. |
